In a major counterterrorism effort, the Telangana Police, working with authorities from Andhra Pradesh, have stopped a possible bomb plot linked to the Islamic State (ISIS). Two suspects, identified as Siraj Ur Rehman (29) and Syed Sameer (28), were arrested following a series of coordinated raids across the region.
The operation was initiated after intelligence agencies received viable information about the suspects’ activities. Officials believe the duo had been testing explosives in various locations, including areas in Andhra Pradesh, before their arrest. Although the exact type of explosives has not been revealed, sources suggest the materials could have caused serious destruction.
Investigators are currently examining the suspects’ backgrounds and trying to uncover any links they may have with other terrorist groups in the country. Early investigation suggests that Siraj and Sameer may have been in the early stages of planning attacks in urban centers.

This incident underscores the ongoing threat posed by ISIS-affiliated groups in India and highlights the efficacy of inter-state cooperation in counterterrorism efforts. The quick action by the police and intelligence teams helped stop a potential disaster. Authorities have assured the public that measures are in place to prevent such threats and maintain national security.
As the investigation continues, more details are expected to come out. Law enforcement agencies are closely monitoring the situation and are focused on identifying any more people who might be involved in the plot.
