August 15 is shaping up to be an exciting day for Bollywood fans as three major films — Stree 2, Khel Khel Mein, and Vedaa — are set to release on Independence Day. With advance bookings already open, movie enthusiasts are eagerly reserving their seats for these much-anticipated films.
Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh recently provided an update on the performance of these films in advance ticket sales. In a note shared on X (formerly known as Twitter), Adarsh highlighted the strong start that Stree 2 is witnessing. “ADVANCE BOOKING UPDATE: ‘STREE 2′ TICKET SALES ARE ON… The film industry can finally breathe a sigh of relief… #Stree2 is poised for a sensational start at the #BO… The pre-sales – which are growing rapidly by the hour – indicate a #Blockbuster start for this horror-comedy,” he wrote.

In contrast, the other two Independence Day releases, Khel Khel Mein and Vedaa, are currently experiencing a slower uptake in advance bookings. However, Adarsh remains optimistic that ticket sales will gain momentum as the release date approaches. He noted, “On the other hand, advance bookings for the other two #IndependenceDay releases – #KhelKhelMein and #Vedaa – are currently sluggish… However, there’s hope that the ticket sales will pick up before they hit cinemas.”

Earlier, Taran Adarsh also emphasized the importance of Independence Day releases in 2024, pointing out the numerous holidays in August that could boost box office numbers. Khel Khel Mein: This multi-starrer project boasts an impressive cast including Akshay Kumar, Ammy Virk, Fardeen Khan, Aditya Seal, Taapsee Pannu, Vaani Kapoor, and Pragya Jaiswal. Directed by Mudassar Aziz, the film is produced by T-Series Films, Wakaoo Films, and White World Productions.
