Actor Radhika Apte’s internationally-acclaimed film Sister Midnight is all set to release in theatres across India on May 23, following a successful run at prestigious global film festivals including Cannes, BAFTA, and Fantastic Fest.
Directed by Karan Kandhari in his feature debut, Sister Midnight stars Apte in the lead, alongside Ashok Pathak, Chhaya Kadam, Smita Tambe, and Navya Sawant. The film is produced by Alastair Clark, Anna Griffin, and Alan McAlex.

The story follows a woman who wakes up on the first morning after her arranged marriage, only to find herself alone at home and uncertain about what to do next. The narrative explores the absence of a “manual” for life and relationships, offering a reflective and nuanced take on the complexities of early marital life.
It started from just the idea of what happens the very first morning in an arranged marriage… you have no manual to do this,” shared director Karan Kandhari. He emphasized that the film’s core message is about the unpredictability of life, adding, “There is no manual for anything.”

Ahead of the India release, Radhika Apte took to Instagram to share the French poster of the film, building anticipation among fans.
Indian audiences can experience Sister Midnight on the big screen from May 23, as it opens in theatres nationwide.
