Bihar Khelo India Youth Games 2025 | In a landmark moment for Indian sports, Bihar made history by successfully hosting the 7th edition of the Khelo India Youth Games at the Patliputra Sports Complex in Patna, marking a turning point not just in its own sporting journey, but in the national landscape as well. From May 4 to May 14, the state delivered an exceptional performance — both in terms of athlete success and event organization — and earned accolades from across the country.
Once underestimated in national sporting circles, Bihar stunned all by leaping to 15th place in the overall medal tally — a massive 620% improvement over its 2023 performance. In this year’s edition, Bihar clinched 7 gold, 11 silver, and 18 bronze medals, totaling 36 medals compared to just 5 last year.

This performance decisively broke comparisons with neighboring states like Jharkhand, proving that Bihar is not just catching up but emerging as a new powerhouse in Indian sports.
Stories of Grit and Dreams Behind the Podium
Each medal won carries the story of rural determination — young athletes who trained in remote villages despite limited resources. Their grit, discipline, and commitment brought pride to the state. As Ravindran Shankaran, Director General of Bihar State Sports Authority, said, “This achievement isn’t sudden — it’s the result of strategic planning, government policy, and consistent support for youth talent.”
