In the aftermath of India’s high-precision military offensive, Operation Sindoor, aimed at terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), Pakistani celebrities Mahira Khan, Hania Aamir, and Mawra Hocane voiced strong criticism of the operation on social media.
India launched the operation in response to the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed 26 civilian lives on April 22. The counter-strike, executed early Wednesday, reportedly killed over 80 terrorists.
Celebrities React to Operation Sindoor
Mahira Khan shared a critical post on her Instagram Stories, resharing a message from Fatima Bhutto that condemned the Indian action. Khan added her own message:
“Seriously, cowardly!!! May Allah protect our country, may better sense prevail. Ameen.”

Hania Aamir, another prominent Pakistani actress, posted a single-word reaction on Instagram, calling the strike “Cowardly.”
Meanwhile, Mawra Hocane took to X (formerly Twitter) to voice her disapproval:
“Strongly condemn India’s cowardly attack on Pakistan.. Innocent civilians have lost their lives.. May Allah protect us all.. may sense prevail.. Ya Allah ho Ya Hafizo.. #PakistanZindabad.”

Previous Responses to Pahalgam Attack
Interestingly, all three celebrities had previously expressed grief over the Pahalgam terror attack, which prompted the Indian military response.
-
Khan had posted condolences on Instagram, later deleting the post.
-
Aamir wrote, “Tragedy anywhere is a tragedy for all of us.”
-
Hocane called the attack, “An act of terrorism against one, terrorism against all.”
Instagram Ban in India
Following their recent posts, the Instagram accounts of several Pakistani celebrities, including Mahira Khan, Hania Aamir, Fawad Khan, Ali Zafar, Atif Aslam, Sajal Aly, and Ahad Raza Mir, were banned in India.
Users attempting to access their profiles are met with the message:
“Account not available in India. This is because we complied with a legal request to restrict this content.”
Notably, Fawad Khan was set to make a Bollywood comeback with ‘Abir Gulaal’, scheduled for release this Friday — a project now facing uncertainty amid growing diplomatic and public backlash.
As tensions between India and Pakistan continue to rise, the Operation Sindoor narrative has expanded beyond military action, igniting a war of words and public sentiment across social media and entertainment spheres.
