The Noida Traffic Police has imposed an additional penalty of Rs 47,500 on three individuals, including two women whose video of riding a scooter surfaced on social media recently, officials confirmed on Wednesday.
Following the circulation of their video, an FIR has been registered by the local police. Earlier, the traffic police had fined the owner of the scooter Rs 33,000 after the first video, criticized for its vulgar content in public places by online users, came to light on March 25.

Subsequently, the Noida traffic police identified another video showing a girl and a boy riding the scooter on a city street without helmets. The scooter owner was booked on seven counts of negligence related to road safety as per the Motor Vehicles Act, according to the e-challan.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Anil Kumar Yadav told PTI, “The total penalty imposed on the scooter owner over the two episodes in the two days has reached Rs 80,500.” Yadav urged the public to adhere to traffic rules and follow road safety guidelines, including wearing helmets and seat belts while riding two-wheelers or four-wheelers.
Meanwhile, an FIR was lodged at Noida’s Sector 113 police station against the three “unidentified” individuals based on a complaint lodged by a local sub-inspector. The FIR alleges that the boy negligently rode the scooter while the girls engaged in obscene acts to create its video, which was later circulated on social media, leading to public outrage.
The FIR has been registered under IPC sections 279 (rash/negligent driving endangering human life), 290 (public nuisance), 294 (obscenity in public place), 336, and 337 (both related to acts endangering the life of others or causing hurt by it).
Police stated that further legal proceedings in the case are ongoing.
