In a shocking incident, Jitan Sahani, father of Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) chief Mukesh Sahani, was found brutally murdered at their ancestral home in Bihar’s Darbhanga district. The mutilated body of Jitan Sahani was discovered on his bed early this morning, sending shockwaves through the local community.
Senior police officer Jagannath Reddy confirmed the murder and stated that a police team is currently investigating the crime scene. The chilling nature of the murder has caused widespread panic among residents of the area.

Mukesh Sahani, a former minister in the Bihar government, leads the VIP party, which holds significant support within the OBC community. The VIP is currently allied with the RJD and Congress within the INDIA Opposition bloc.
According to senior police officer Manish Chandra Chaudhary, a preliminary investigation suggests that the perpetrator entered the Sahani household with the intention of theft. When Jitan Sahani resisted, he was killed. In response to the heinous crime, Reddy announced the formation of a three-member Special Investigation Team to thoroughly investigate the case.
The incident has sparked political uproar, with the main opposition RJD strongly criticizing the Nitish Kumar government. RJD spokesperson Shakti Yadav expressed deep concern over the rising crime rates in the state, stating, “What is happening in Bihar? Not a day goes by without news of a murder. A mindless government is in power. The system has collapsed. May God grant Mukesh Sahani strength to bear this grief.”

Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Samrat Choudhary condemned the murder as “unfortunate” and assured that strict action would be taken against the perpetrators. “I want to assure on behalf of the state government that strict action would be taken. Anyone guilty would be put behind bars. The government stands firmly with Mukesh Sahani ji’s family,” he said.
Neeraj Kumar of the ruling JDU also addressed the situation, informing the media that senior police officers are diligently working at the crime scene and a thorough investigation is underway. “The culprits won’t be spared. Efforts are underway to locate them and bring them to justice,” he assured.
Union Minister and LJP (Ramvilas) leader Chirag Paswan condemned the brutal murder and promised swift action. “The criminals will be identified at the earliest and action will be taken. My condolences for Mukesh Sahani ji and his family,” he stated.
