Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday strongly criticized Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal over his claim that Haryana had “poisoned” the Yamuna River to disrupt Delhi’s water supply. Addressing a rally in Kartar Nagar, Delhi, PM Modi termed the remarks an “insult to the country” and accused AAP of spreading misinformation amid fears of losing the upcoming Assembly elections.
PM Modi Lashes Out at Kejriwal’s Allegation
During his speech, PM Modi renewed his “AAP-da” (disaster) jibe at Kejriwal and alleged that the party was “rattled” as it sensed defeat in the elections. He also likened AAP leaders to serial killer Charles Sobhraj, known for deceiving people.

“A former Chief Minister of Delhi has leveled disgusting allegations against the people of Haryana. Due to fear of losing, AAP-da leaders have become rattled. Are the people of Haryana different from those in Delhi? Do they not have relatives in Delhi? Can the people of Haryana poison the water their own families drink?” he asked.
PM Modi asserted that such claims were an “insult to Haryana and all Indians.” He further stated, “This is the country where providing water is considered a good deed. I am sure that this time, Delhi will teach a lesson to those who make such baseless claims. These AAP-da people’s ship will sink in Yamuna (Inn AAP-da walon ki luttiya Yamuna mein hi doobegi).”
8 तारीख के बाद जब दिल्ली में भाजपा की सरकार बनेगी, तो जो भी वादे आपसे किए गए हैं, वो सारे वादे समय सीमा में पूरे किए जाएंगे।
ये मोदी की गारंटी है।

Election Commission Seeks Proof from Kejriwal
The Election Commission has taken cognizance of Kejriwal’s accusations and has asked him to provide evidence by 8 pm on Wednesday. PM Modi, referring to the water supply situation, pointed out that the Yamuna water provided by Haryana is consumed by everyone in Delhi, including himself.

“Judges, diplomats, the poor—everyone drinks Yamuna water. How can one think that Haryana will poison it to kill Modi?” he remarked.
PM Modi Predicts BJP’s Victory in Delhi
Asserting confidence in BJP’s victory, PM Modi declared that the people of Delhi had made up their minds that “excuses and fake promises” from AAP would not work this time.
In the last five years, the Delhi Assembly has only worked for 70-75 days, the lowest in its history.
Meanwhile, problems in the city have grown, but only 14 laws were passed, with five of them focused on deciding the salaries and pensions of their MLAs.

“Delhi is saying that now the loot and lies of AAP-da will not work. People here want a double-engine government of the BJP, which will build houses for the poor, modernize Delhi, provide tap water to every home, and free the city from the tanker mafia. On February 5, AAP-da will go, and BJP will come,” he stated.
AAP and Congress: A Secret Alliance?
PM Modi also alleged that AAP and Congress had a secret understanding to form an alliance after the elections. He warned that if both parties came to power together, it would be a “double AAP-da” for Delhi.

“AAP-da has realized it will face defeat. People are angry with their MLAs. Now, AAP-da is trying to ensure that even if their candidates don’t win, Congress MLAs secure victory so they can later join hands to form the government. In this way, Delhi will suffer a double AAP-da,” he cautioned.
Delhi’s Long-Standing Problems Unresolved
Criticizing both AAP and Congress for their governance in Delhi over the last 25 years, PM Modi said the city’s persistent issues remained unaddressed.
“You have witnessed Congress’s tenure and AAP’s 11-year tenure, but Delhi’s problems remain the same. In 25 years, they have destroyed two generations. Traffic jams, waterlogging, pollution—nothing has improved. Your one vote can change everything,” he urged.
“We have to complete the pending works of the last 11 years and plan for the next 25 years. You have seen Congress and AAP for 25 years; now give the lotus (BJP’s electoral symbol) a chance,” he concluded.
Delhi, which has 70 Assembly seats, will go to the polls on February 5. A fierce three-way contest is expected between the AAP, BJP, and Congress. The election results will be declared on February 8, deciding the future of Delhi’s governance.
