Muskan Rastogi, accused of brutally murdering her husband along with her lover, has been found pregnant during a routine medical examination at Meerut jail, officials confirmed on Monday. The shocking revelation adds another twist to the already gruesome Meerut murder case involving the killing and dismemberment of former Merchant Navy officer Saurabh Rajput.
Pregnancy Discovered During Standard Jail Procedure
Senior jail superintendent Viresh Raj Sharma stated that all female inmates undergo regular health check-ups and pregnancy tests upon admission. Muskan’s test was part of this standard process. “I have not yet received the doctors’ written report but have been verbally informed that Muskan is pregnant,” Sharma said.
Chief medical officer Dr Ashok Kataria also confirmed that a preliminary pregnancy test came back positive and said the next step would be an ultrasound to determine the condition and duration of the pregnancy.

Details of the Meerut Murder Case
The brutal murder of Saurabh Rajput took place on the night of March 4, 2025, at his residence in Indiranagar, Meerut. Muskan Rastogi and her alleged lover Sahil Shukla have been accused of drugging, stabbing, and dismembering Rajput.
According to the police, the accused severed his head and hands before stuffing the body into a blue drum filled with cement. The autopsy report confirmed that the cause of death was shock and excessive bleeding. His legs were bent backwards to fit the remains inside the drum.
Chilling Pre-Murder Plot Uncovered
Investigations reveal that Muskan had been plotting the murder since November 2023. In a shocking manipulation tactic, she allegedly created a fake Snapchat account, pretending to be Sahil’s deceased mother, to emotionally control and influence him into committing the crime.
Current Status of the Accused
Both Muskan and Sahil are currently in judicial custody. Muskan has been assigned sewing work inside the prison, while Sahil is engaged in agricultural duties. They are also part of a rehabilitation programme run with support from a drug de-addiction centre.
