The brutal murder of Saurabh Rajput, allegedly at the hands of his wife Muskan Rastogi and her lover Sahil Shukla, has taken a shocking turn with claims of occult practices being central to the crime.
Saurabh’s family has accused the accused duo of performing tantric rituals to carry out the killing. “Both Muskaan and Sahil were into occult practices. They killed my son by performing tantric rituals,” said Rajput’s mother, Renu Devi.
Saurabh’s in-laws, Kavita and Pramod Rastogi, alleged that Sahil Shukla held Muskan captive using the influence of occult practices. “He kept Muskan isolated from her six-year-old daughter,” they claimed.
According to the police, Saurabh Rajput was allegedly drugged, stabbed to death, dismembered, and his body was sealed in a cement-filled drum on March 4. After committing the crime, Muskan and Sahil went on a vacation to Himachal Pradesh, misleading Saurabh’s family by sending messages from his phone.

Renu Devi further alleged, “Sahil’s occult practices dominated Muskan’s mind in such a way that she started keeping her six-year-old daughter away. Sahil had made Muskan an addict and completely superstitious.”
Police sources revealed that Muskan confessed Sahil manipulated her into killing her husband. “Muskan has made it clear in her statements that Sahil had said, ‘you will have to kill Saurabh, only then we can start a new life’,” the source said.
Describing the crime, the police source added, “Sahil got Muskan to kill her husband. First, he made her sit on Saurabh’s chest. Then he brought a knife from the kitchen, showed her how to wield it, and directed her to insert the knife in Saurabh’s heart thrice.”
“When Muskan could not bring herself to use the knife, Sahil held her hand and made her stab an unconscious Saurabh in the heart thrice,” the source stated.
Superintendent of Police (City) Ayush Vikaram Singh, when asked about the occult angle, said, “All aspects of the case are being looked into.”
The case came to light on March 18, after which Muskan Rastogi and Sahil Shukla were arrested. Investigations are ongoing, with police exploring every possible angle, including the alleged influence of occult practices.
