In a focused meeting on Saturday, Tribal Welfare Minister Chamra Linda reviewed critical welfare initiatives alongside the Departmental Secretary, Tribal Welfare Commissioner, and Managing Director of the Tribal Cooperative Development Corporation. The session aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring that all tribal beneficiaries receive timely benefits.
Minister Linda placed strong emphasis on education, directing officials to ensure that meritorious Scheduled Tribe (ST) students receive access to excellent coaching institutes for preparation for competitive examinations. He stressed that such support would significantly help tribal youth integrate into mainstream sectors.
Expedite “Marang-Gomke Pardeshiya” Scholarship for Overseas Studies
The meeting covered the Marand-Gomke Pardeshiya Scholarship, which supports tribal students pursuing higher education abroad. Minister Linda instructed officials to accelerate the identification and selection process, so eligible students can avail of this opportunity without further delay.

Minister Linda urged swift implementation of the government’s large-scale bicycle distribution scheme across all districts to improve mobility and access to education for tribal youth. He also emphasized the effective execution of the Chief Minister’s Employment Generation Scheme, urging strong action to prepare youth for self-employment and entrepreneurship.
Strengthening Rural Health Infrastructure
On healthcare, Minister Linda directed immediate improvements in the management and services of 16 rural welfare hospitals, ensuring that residents in remote tribal areas receive quality healthcare without service disruptions.
Throughout the meeting, Minister Linda emphasized the importance of scheduled progress reviews and timely delivery of benefits. He urged officials to maintain momentum in implementation so that welfare initiatives effectively reach individuals at the grassroots level.
