Jharkhand Cabinet Decisions | In a series of significant decisions, the Jharkhand government has granted administrative approvals totaling over Rs 2,100 crore. These approvals cover diverse sectors, including education, road infrastructure, welfare schemes, judicial compliance, and digital governance reforms. The move underscores the state’s commitment to accelerating development and enhancing public service delivery.
Major Educational Infrastructure Projects
The state has sanctioned Rs 57.95 crore for the construction of a women’s college in Khunti district under Ranchi University. Another Rs 38.76 crore has been approved for the construction of a degree college in Ichagarh, located in Saraikela-Kharsawan district under Kolhan University. These projects aim to expand higher education access in rural and tribal regions.
Policy Reforms and Institutional Strengthening
The cabinet has approved multiple regulatory reforms, including the formation of Jharkhand Rajkiyakrit Prarambhik Vidyalay Shikshak Promotion Rules, 2025, and amendments to the Jharkhand Medical Council and Jharkhand Housing Board regulations.
An annual grant of Rs 3 crore will be provided to the Jharkhand Hindu Religious Trust Board to support its operations. A new Legislative Forum on HIV/AIDS (LFA) will also be established under national guidelines.
Infrastructure and Road Development
A significant portion of the approvals was dedicated to road and infrastructure development. Rs 114.99 crore has been allocated for the widening and strengthening of the Barwadih-Mandal-Bhandaria road in Latehar. In Ranchi, Rs 141.06 crore will fund the four-lane expansion of Argoda to Naya Sarai via Pundag. Simdega district will see riding quality improvements on the 63.2-km MDR-044 stretch with a budget of Rs 38 crore.

Additionally, Rs 37.88 crore has been sanctioned for constructing a high-level bridge over the Koel River near Udhna-Baranga road.
In a major urban upgrade, Rs 301.12 crore has been approved for the six-lane widening of the stretch from Vivekanand School More to Ring Road via the Jharkhand High Court and Vidhan Sabha, along with a 2.12-km link road. The Taj Hotel project in Ranchi’s Core Capital Area received special clearances, increasing its ground coverage limit from 25% to 40% and building height from 26 to 27 meters.
Operational Reforms and Support Measures
Group A officers (Pay Matrix Level-9 and below) are now entitled to mobile phones and recharge benefits. Police personnel will receive awards on Jharkhand Foundation Day (November 15) under revised protocols. The government has also permitted reimbursement of Rs 1.19 lakh for post-facto travel between Delhi and Ranchi by Jharkhand Bhawan officials.
The Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission has been allocated Rs 31.50 crore from the state contingency fund to conduct competitive exams in FY 2025-26. NCC cadets and part-time officers will now receive increased daily allowances and are authorized to travel in AC Tier-3 coaches during official camps.
