Chief Minister Hemant Soren and MLA Kalpana Soren met with WorldBeing CEO Steve Leventhal (USA) at the Chief Minister’s chamber in the Jharkhand Assembly on Friday. The meeting focused on the initiatives undertaken by WorldBeing India Foundation through the Arohan program to empower and uplift tribal youth. Leventhal shared insights into the positive transformations observed among teachers and students in residential schools under this initiative.
The Chief Minister appreciated the organization’s efforts in the development of Jharkhand’s tribal communities. Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar was also present during the discussion.
Government’s Commitment to Strengthening Tribal Youth
The Chief Minister reiterated that Jharkhand, being a tribal-dominated state, is committed to advancing its tribal youth in economic, social, and educational spheres. He emphasized that collaborations with various institutions can significantly enhance these efforts. The government remains dedicated to strengthening and empowering the state through collective and constructive participation.
WorldBeing India Foundation’s Jharkhand coordinator, Sunita Munda, highlighted that the state’s tribal youth possess immense potential and resilience to overcome challenges.

However, there is a need to bolster their mental strength. Through the Arohan program, the organization is working towards empowering tribal youth mentally and emotionally. Chief Minister Soren acknowledged this need and assured that the government would closely assess the organization’s contributions to further strengthen the youth.
Integrating Arohan with the Mainstream Education System
WorldBeing India Foundation informed the Chief Minister about its successful collaboration with Bihar’s education system through the Arohan initiative.
In response, CM Soren expressed the government’s intent to explore ways to integrate Arohan into Jharkhand’s education system.

To facilitate this, a team of Jharkhand’s teachers and officials will be sent to Bihar to study the program’s impact and implementation strategies.
