India Attacks Pakistan Air Bases | In a strong and calibrated military response, the Indian Air Force (IAF) launched precision airstrikes on multiple Pakistan Air Force (PAF) installations, including air bases in Rafiqui, Murid, Chaklala, and Rahim Yar Khan, just hours after Pakistan escalated cross-border hostilities with widespread drone and missile attacks across India’s western sector.
India’s retaliatory operation, backed by air-launched precision weapons, also hit Pakistan military sites in Sukkur and Chunia, a radar installation at Pasrur, and the Sialkot aviation base, according to a high-level government briefing held Friday night.
IAF Hits Back: Key Pakistani Military Targets Struck
Addressing the media alongside Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, Wing Commander Vyomika Singh confirmed the nature and scope of India’s air operations, emphasising that all targets were military infrastructure with zero civilian engagement.
“In a swift and calibrated response, the Indian Air Force carried out precision attacks only on identified military targets. These included technical infrastructure, command and control centres, radar sites, and weapon storage areas,” said Wing Commander Singh.
She detailed that Pakistan’s sites at Rafiqui, Murid, Chaklala, Rahim Yar Khan, Sukkur, and Chunia were targeted using air-launched precision weapons, while the radar site at Pasrur and Sialkot aviation base were neutralised with guided munitions.
Pakistan’s Escalation Provokes India’s Response
The airstrikes come after Pakistan launched a coordinated wave of drone and missile attacks over two consecutive days, targeting Indian cities and military installations in Jammu, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Gujarat.

“Pakistan continued to provoke India through aggressive aerial tactics, including the use of unmanned combat aerial vehicles (UCAVs), long-range munitions, loitering drones, and fighter jets,” Wing Commander Singh stated.
She confirmed that most of these vectors were intercepted, though limited damage was sustained at IAF stations in Udhampur, Pathankot, Adampur, and Bhuj.
Civilian Areas Targeted by Pakistan: Medical Centre, School Hit
In a strongly worded statement, the Indian government condemned Pakistan’s attack on civilian infrastructure, including a school and a medical centre, labelling the strikes “deplorable and cowardly”.
“Despite Pakistan’s deliberate targeting of civilian areas, India has shown strategic restraint while ensuring a firm military response. Our objective remains the neutralisation of hostile infrastructure without collateral damage,” said Colonel Qureshi.

India’s retaliation marks a significant escalation in the conflict, following Pakistan’s drone-based aggression which saw over 300 aerial threats neutralised by India’s air defence network earlier this week.
Sources confirm the Indian strikes are part of a wider counter-offensive strategy, ensuring deterrence and operational superiority amid rising tensions.
Diplomatic outreach is also underway, with India briefing key allies on the evolving security situation. The strikes have garnered internal support, with citizens and defence analysts praising the precision and professionalism of the IAF.
