Pakistani Drone Attack Updates | A fresh wave of Pakistani drone attacks on Friday night left three members of a family injured in Punjab’s Ferozepur district, marking a dangerous escalation in the ongoing hostilities between India and Pakistan. Officials confirmed that one of the victims, a woman, is in critical condition with severe burn injuries, while the other two have sustained lesser burns.
The incident occurred amid a massive aerial intrusion, with 300–400 drones reportedly launched from Pakistan across 36 different locations in northern India, including Jammu, Pathankot, Samba, and border areas of Punjab and Rajasthan.
Civilian Injured as Drone Bomb Hits Ferozepur
Police officer Bhupinder Singh Sidhu confirmed the attack in Ferozepur, stating, “We received information about three people being injured. They have burn injuries. Doctors will treat them. Most of the drones have been neutralised by the army.”
Dr. Kamal Bagi, who treated the injured at a local hospital, provided a grim update: “Due to a drone bomb, three people got injured. One woman is critical with severe burns. The other two are stable with minor injuries. They belong to the same family and are under observation.”
This marks the third consecutive night of Pakistani drone aggression, with military and civilian areas targeted in a highly coordinated strike. As red flares streaked across the skies, air defence units intercepted several drones over the Samba sector of Jammu, triggering explosions that rattled local residents.

A precautionary blackout was enforced across border towns, including Ferozepur, Pathankot, and Jammu, to protect against potential visual targeting by drones. Sirens blared and local authorities urged residents to remain indoors.
Pakistan Deploys Turkish-Made ‘Asisguard Songar’ Drones
At a late-evening press briefing, Indian defence officials revealed that the drones used were Turkish-origin ‘Asisguard Songar’ drones, designed for both surveillance and aerial munitions delivery.
“The likely objective was to test India’s air defence grid and gather real-time intelligence on troop movement and radar deployment,” said a senior official.
The mass scale of drone deployment, combined with their nighttime launch, was intended to stretch India’s defence coverage. However, the Indian military’s multi-layered air defence systems responded swiftly, neutralising dozens of aerial threats before they reached sensitive targets.
Civilian Toll Raises Concern Amid Escalation
While India has so far succeeded in intercepting most incoming drones, the incident in Ferozepur has drawn attention to the growing risk to civilians in border regions.
The attack follows previous drone strikes in Jammu, Amritsar, Barmer, and Jaisalmer, as well as artillery fire along the LoC in Kupwara, Uri, and Handwara sectors.

Friday’s strike also follows India’s precision retaliation under Operation Sindoor, which dismantled terror launchpads across the border earlier this week in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.
Government Vows Vigilance, Urges Public to Remain Calm
Authorities have reinforced security across the border states, with surveillance drones, radar systems, and counter-UAS platforms deployed extensively. “We are prepared for continued provocations. Our response will be strong, but calibrated to avoid civilian harm,” a senior official said.
As drone warfare emerges as Pakistan’s new frontline tactic, India’s resolve and technological readiness have ensured minimal damage — though incidents like Ferozepur highlight the rising threat to human life.
