Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday met a joint delegation of Mahanagar Durga Puja Samiti, Zila Durga Puja Samiti, and Shri Mahavir Mandal Ranchi at his residential office on Kanke Road. During the meeting, the delegation members held detailed discussions on the preparations for the upcoming Durga Puja 2025 celebrations.
The members told the Chief Minister that under his leadership, Durga Puja committees across the state are receiving full cooperation from the government and district administration. They informed him that during Durga Puja, electricity supply, water supply, and cleanliness in the city are being maintained regularly.
Like every year, this time too, around 157 Durga Puja pandals are being set up across Ranchi and nearby areas, with preparations in full swing. The delegation also appreciated the initiatives being carried out by the state government.
Delegation Extends Invitation to CM and Family
The delegation requested the Chief Minister to continue extending support to the Puja committees this year as well. They expressed gratitude to him, saying that for the past few years, committees have been able to meet him ahead of the festival, which has proven to be a very positive step.
They noted that under his guidance, better coordination between the state government, district administration, and Puja committees has ensured timely resolution of several issues.

On the occasion, the delegation presented the Chief Minister with an idol of Goddess Durga, a chunari, and an angavastra as a mark of respect, and extended a cordial invitation to him and his family to visit the pandals and seek blessings of the Goddess. CM Hemant Soren also conveyed his heartfelt greetings and best wishes for Durga Puja to all present.
State Government’s Full Support for Durga Puja Committees
Reassuring the members, CM Hemant Soren said that all Durga Puja committees will continue to receive full support from the state government, just as in previous years. He instructed that the district administration and Puja organising committees must hold joint meetings to ensure effective coordination and conduct the festival in a peaceful and harmonious environment.
Ranchi to Be Developed as a Model City
Highlighting the government’s vision, the Chief Minister said that Ranchi will be developed as a model city with a focus on public convenience and amenities.
He emphasised that the government is moving ahead with special action plans to make the city clean, beautiful, and modern. Public participation, he added, is also crucial for the holistic development of Ranchi.
