A vacation turned tragic for a family from Karnataka after a man from Shivamogga was killed in a terror attack while holidaying with his wife and young son in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam on Tuesday.
The victim, identified as Manjunath, had travelled to the picturesque Kashmir valley with his wife, Pallavi, and their child. He was killed on the spot when a group of terrorists opened fire in the Baisaran area of Pahalgam, a popular tourist destination.
Deceased man’s wife narrates the whole attack
Recalling the horrifying incident, Pallavi said, “The three of us — my husband, our son, and I — were visiting Kashmir. Around 1:30 PM, the attack happened at Pahalgam. He was shot dead right in front of me. It still feels like a nightmare.”
She said that local residents rushed to her aid immediately after the incident. “Three locals helped rescue me,” Pallavi recounted with gratitude.

Manjunath and Pallavi, recording what would tragically become their last video. Smiling, content, in love. Simple people who wouldn’t harm a fly.
Islamic terrorists killed Manjunath. Because he was a Hindu. No other reason. Just the religion.

According to her, the attackers appeared to be targeting Hindus. “Three to four men surrounded us. I begged them to kill me too, since they had already taken my husband. One of them responded, ‘I won’t kill you. Go and tell this to Modi’,” she alleged.
Pallavi has appealed to authorities to expedite the return of her husband’s body to Shivamogga. “The area is difficult to access. His body needs to be airlifted. We want it brought home immediately,” she said.
