Nitish Kumar Begins Fifth Straight Term, Sets Two Historic Records
Nitish Kumar’s swearing-in marked two significant milestones. He became the longest-serving chief minister of Bihar and took the oath for a record tenth time, strengthening his hold over state politics. The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several senior NDA leaders.
BJP leaders Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha also took oath as Bihar’s deputy chief ministers. Additionally, 18 cabinet ministers assumed office as part of the new state government.

Following the party’s poor performance in the Bihar assembly polls, the Rashtriya Janata Dal posted a reflective message on X. The party stated, “Public service is an unceasing process, an endless journey. Ups and downs are inevitable in it. No sorrow in defeat, no arrogance in victory. The Rashtriya Janata Dal is the party of the poor. It will continue to raise their voice among the poor.”
The NDA swept the elections with 202 seats, with the BJP emerging as the largest party at 89 seats, followed by JD(U) at 85 seats. The RJD secured 25 seats, while the Congress won six.
Tejashwi Yadav’s Electoral Track Record
Before this election cycle, Tejashwi Yadav had successfully won the Raghopur assembly seat in both 2015 and 2020, cementing his place as one of the state’s most prominent young political leaders. His latest message indicates a shift toward constructive opposition as Bihar enters a new political phase.
