Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will continue to take a low dose of insulin as prescribed by a five-member medical board formed under the direction of the Delhi court. The decision was reached following a virtual conference conducted by the board, which includes specialists in endocrinology and diabetology.
After assessing the health status of Arvind Kejriwal, the medical board determined that he is stable and does not require any alteration in his current medication regimen. The next review meeting is scheduled to take place after seven days to monitor his progress.
The initiation of insulin treatment began on Monday evening when the blood sugar levels of Arvind Kejriwal spiked to 217.
Subsequently, the medical board recommended continuing this treatment for five days. He is currently receiving a low dose of insulin twice daily, administered before lunch and dinner, until the next review.

An official from Tihar jail, where Kejriwal is detained following his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with the alleged Delhi liquor scam case, stated that the Chief Minister’s health is under close observation by prison doctors. He is also provided with home-cooked meals and other prescribed medications.
In response to earlier allegations by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) regarding Kejriwal’s health, the jail superintendent arranged a video conference with doctors from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
Following this interaction, jail officials reported that the supply of insulin had not been raised, contrary to claims made by Arvind Kejriwal.
Disputing this assertion, Arvind Kejriwal emphasised that his blood sugar readings consistently range between 250 and 320 mg/dl, prompting his regular requests for insulin. He dismissed accusations by the Enforcement Directorate of consuming sugary foods to gain legal advantage, denouncing the agency’s actions as politically motivated.
Arvind Kejriwal’s legal battle continues, with the Delhi High Court scheduled to hear his petition challenging the summonses issued by the probe agency on May 15 in connection with the money-laundering case linked to the Delhi government’s former excise policy.
