Union Home Minister Amit Shah issued a stern warning to terrorists on Thursday, asserting that India, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, will deliver a “fitting and precise response” to every act of terrorism. His statement marked the first public response by the Home Minister to the April 22 terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam, which killed 25 tourists and one local.
Clear Message to Terrorists
Speaking at a public event, Shah declared that those behind cowardly attacks should be under no illusion about escaping justice. “If anyone thinks that a cowardly attack is their victory, they must remember this is Narendra Modi’s India — and revenge will be taken, one by one,” he said.
Commitment to Eradicate Terrorism
Reiterating the government’s zero-tolerance stance, the Home Minister said, “It is our resolve to uproot terrorism from every inch of this country, and it will be accomplished.” Shah emphasized that the fight against terrorism would continue until it is eradicated entirely from Indian soil.
Global Support for India’s Stand
Highlighting the international condemnation of the Pahalgam attack, Shah said the world stood united with India in its fight against terrorism. “Not only 140 crore Indians but the entire global community is standing with us. All countries have come together in support of the people of India in this battle,” he noted.
Perpetrators Will Be Punished
The Home Minister reiterated that those responsible for the Pahalgam attack would face appropriate consequences. “Until terrorism is wiped out, our efforts will not cease. Those who have committed these acts will certainly be given appropriate punishment,” Shah asserted.
