During an early morning operation near the Nepal border, TMC leader Jahangir Khan got arrested who has been absconding, alleged of seven FIR filed against him.
Police sources said the STF had been closely monitoring Khan’s movements based on intelligence inputs. Acting on information regarding his presence near the Nepal border area, STF personnel launched a targeted operation that led to his arrest.
Authorities confirmed that seven First Information Reports (FIRs) have been registered against Khan at Falta Police Station in South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. The cases are currently under investigation.
Suspected Attempt to Flee to Nepal
According to police, Khan was intercepted while allegedly attempting to flee to Nepal. The operation was conducted in the early hours of the morning after investigators received specific intelligence about his location.

Recently Contested Election from Falta Constituency
Jahangir Khan had been fielded by the Trinamool Congress in the recently concluded election from the Falta constituency in West Bengal. Following the registration of multiple cases against him, law enforcement agencies had intensified efforts to trace his whereabouts.
Investigation Continues
Police officials said Khan was taken into custody following the operation and further legal proceedings are underway. Investigators are continuing to examine the cases registered against him as part of the ongoing inquiry.
