Vedika Prakash Shetty, former personal assistant to Bollywood actor Alia Bhatt, has been arrested for allegedly forging the actor’s signature and fraudulently siphoning off over ₹76.90 lakh from Alia’s personal and business accounts. The arrest was made by Juhu Police on Tuesday evening in Bengaluru, nearly five months after Alia’s mother, actor Soni Razdan, filed a complaint against Shetty in February.
According to officials, Shetty allegedly transferred funds from Eternal Sunshine Productions Pvt. Ltd. Alia Bhatt’s production house as well as from the actor’s personal accounts into her own. The alleged financial misconduct reportedly occurred between 2023 and 2025.
Vedika Shetty Allegedly Misused Access Over Two Years
Shetty had been associated with Alia Bhatt as her personal assistant for over two years until her exit in 2023. During this period, she handled both personal and professional responsibilities, including oversight of the production company’s operations.
Police sources revealed that Shetty forged Alia’s signature on multiple occasions to carry out the transactions. Following the FIR filed in February, Mumbai Police launched a probe into her financial activities and ultimately tracked her down to Bengaluru. She has since been taken into custody and her bank accounts are now under scrutiny.
