“All Indian Nationals and PIOs who can move out of Tehran using their own resources are advised to move to a safe location outside the city,” read the advisory from the Indian Embassy in Tehran.

First Batch of Indians Evacuated as Tensions Escalate
Amid five consecutive days of airstrikes between Israel and Iran, India has begun evacuating its citizens from the region. Government sources confirmed that the first batch of 110 Indian nationals crossed into Armenia during the night between Monday and Tuesday.

Iran has claimed that 224 people, most of them civilians, have died since the beginning of the air conflict. Israel has reported 24 civilian casualties and evacuated around 3,000 people from high-risk areas.
India has also urged Iranian authorities to facilitate the safe evacuation of over 10,000 Indian students stranded in Iran. In response, Tehran, citing the closure of its airspace, advised exit via land routes to neighboring Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, or Afghanistan.
Trump Calls for Evacuation, Iran Seeks Ceasefire via Gulf States
As part of diplomatic backchannel efforts, Iran has asked Oman, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia to intervene and request U.S. President Donald Trump to pressure Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for an immediate ceasefire. In return, Tehran may take a more flexible approach in ongoing nuclear negotiations, sources told Reuters.
Earlier today, President Trump, who returned early from the G7 Summit in Canada, held high-level security discussions. On his social media platform, he issued a sharp warning: “IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON. Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran.”
Meanwhile, Iranian media reported missile strikes and explosions in eastern Tehran, with air defence systems active near Natanz, a major nuclear facility located 320 km from the capital. In Israel, air raid sirens were heard in Tel Aviv after midnight, though no impact from missiles was reported.
As tensions soar and the risk of wider regional escalation grows, India’s swift evacuation measures aim to protect its citizens caught in the crossfire of a rapidly deteriorating security situation.
