The king of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan, is once again at the centre of international buzz, as speculation grows about his possible entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The rumours began circulating after a post on X (formerly Twitter) by a fan account, MarvelLeaks22, known for posting Marvel-related updates.
The now-deleted tweet read:
“NEWS/RUMOUR: Shah Rukh Khan (SRK) is rumoured to be in early talks with Marvel Studios for a role in a future project (NOT AVENGERS DOOMSDAY).”
While the tweet has since been removed, it was enough to set social media abuzz. Interestingly, the account still features a picture of Shah Rukh Khan without a caption, further fuelling speculation among fans. However, as of now, no official confirmation has been made from either Marvel or SRK’s team.

Shah Rukh Khan has previously addressed questions about entering Hollywood, and has consistently expressed thoughtful reservations. In an interview with Variety, he clarified:“I don’t want to sound uppity, but it should be a role worthy of the status the Indian audience has given me. It should not let down. I come across as very flippant and happy-go-lucky, but I fully respect and realise the amount of adulation I have and how people adore me. People look up to what I do. People have given me too much respect. People have given me and my family everything that I have: people of India and all around the world, Indians and people from the subcontinent.”
In the past, during the 2008 Berlin Film Festival, SRK also humbly downplayed his prospects in the West, saying:“I’m not talented enough for Western films,” and added, “I don’t know Kung Fu and salsa and I’m not tall enough.”
He expressed surprise at his massive success in India, saying he was shocked by the kind of reception he had received as an actor.
If Shah Rukh Khan were to take on a Marvel role, several Indian-origin characters come to mind. While popular roles like Kingo Sunen and Pavitr Prabhakar have already been portrayed by Kumail Nanjiani and Karan Soni, fans speculate on potential appearances by characters like Raz Malhotra (Giant Man), Neil Shaara (Thunderbird), or Paras Gavaskar (Indra). Still, there’s no indication from Marvel regarding these characters in upcoming projects.
Most recently, Shah Rukh Khan was seen in Dunki (2023), alongside Vicky Kaushal, Taapsee Pannu, Anil Grover, and Vishu Kaushal, further cementing his star power in Indian cinema.
As fans wait for an official update, the idea of Shah Rukh Khan entering the Marvel Universe remains an exciting possibility for millions around the world.
