Stand-up comedian Samay Raina Shares a heartfelt post on Instagram, Raina described his late-night call with his father, who is currently in Jammu, as “calm” and reassuring, despite the tense atmosphere.“My father calls me one last time tonight from Jammu to say goodnight. His voice, steady and calm, urges me to sleep and not worry – the Indian armed forces have everything under control. His calmness quiets my restless thoughts. I switch off the lights in my Mumbai home and walk to the window to draw the curtains,” Raina wrote.
As residents in Jammu faced the threat of ongoing cross-border attacks, Raina expressed admiration for the bravery of soldiers and the resilience of families living close to the conflict zone.“Outside my window, my neighbour’s lights still glow. I know little about him, that’s just how it is here. I wonder if he, too, has family in Jammu, perhaps in Pathankot or if he might be the son of a brave soldier, who won’t sleep tonight, waiting for a morning call from his father on the front lines. My utmost respect to the armed forces and their families for all the sacrifices they make for our safety. Goodnight. Jai Hind,” he added.
In a follow-up story, he offered a message of reassurance and unity to people living in the region.“My prayers with everyone in Jammy. Sleep peacefully and believe in the Indian army. Jai Hind,” Raina posted.

This comes amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan, as drones and missiles were launched toward India late Thursday. Thanks to India’s S-400 defence systems, the attacks were successfully intercepted. However, cross-border shelling in Uri (Jammu and Kashmir) resulted in one civilian death and another injury.
The attacks follow Operation Sindoor, a retaliatory strike by the Indian Army after the Pahalgam terrorist attack on April 22, which killed 26 civilians, including tourists and a foreign national.
In response to the latest escalation, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is set to meet with the Chiefs of the Indian Army, Navy, Air Force, and the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) to assess the situation and strategize future actions.
Samay Raina’s post struck a chord with followers, offering both a personal reflection and a patriotic message amid national crisis.
