Actor Salman Khan woke up to the terrifying sound of gunshots on April 14 when two bikers fired at his residence in Mumbai’s Bandra. Police have linked the attack to Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang, which allegedly conspired to kill the 58-year-old film star.

On June 4, a four-member team, including an officer from the Mumbai Crime Branch, visited Salman Khan’s house to record statements from him and his brother, Arbaaz Khan. The interrogation lasted six hours, during which Salman expressed his gratitude to the police, acknowledging the threat to his life.

Salman Khan recounted that he had gone to bed late after a party the previous night. The sound of a bullet hitting his balcony woke him abruptly. Upon checking, he found no one outside. Arbaaz Khan, who was at his Juhu residence during the shooting, confirmed his awareness of past threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

The police recorded Salman’s statement for three hours and Arbaaz’s for two hours, asking over 150 questions. Salim Khan, their father, was present at the Bandra apartment during the incident but his statement was not taken due to his age. However, the crime branch may record his statement if necessary.

Following the attack, six men were arrested. Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal were apprehended in Gujarat, while Anuj Thapan and another individual were detained in Punjab on April 26. Anuj Thapan later died in police custody.

The police have uncovered a broader conspiracy by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang to target Salman Khan. They planned to ambush his car in Panvel, where he owns a farmhouse, using weapons sourced from a Pakistani arms supplier. Reports suggest that jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, his Canada-based cousin Anmol Bishnoi, and associate Goldie Brar had acquired high-calibre weapons, including AK-47s and M-16s, for the attack.
