Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was attacked and stabbed six times by an intruder at his Bandra residence in Mumbai during the early hours of Thursday. The shocking incident has left the film industry and fans in disbelief. Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif’s wife, recounted the harrowing moments of the attack while recording her statement with the Bandra Police.
“The attacker was aggressive. I saw him attack Saif repeatedly…Our priority was to take Saif to the hospital,” Kapoor stated.
She also revealed that Saif Ali Khan was trying to protect their children, Taimur and Jehangir (Jeh), when the attacker turned violent. “When the attacker could not reach Jeh, he attacked Saif multiple times,” she added.
Following the incident, Kapoor sought refuge at her sister Karisma Kapoor’s house, while Khan underwent emergency surgery.
Saif Ali Khan’s Condition Post-Surgery
Doctors at Lilavati Hospital confirmed that Khan sustained serious injuries, including a spinal fluid leak caused by shards of the attacker’s knife lodged in his spine. He underwent surgery and is recovering well. Sources indicated that Khan is likely to be discharged in a few days.

Preliminary investigations suggest the attacker’s break-in lasted nearly 30 minutes. According to police sources the intruder scaled the wall of an adjacent compound to enter the building premises.
He was familiar with the layout of the Satguru Sharan building, using a rear staircase and fire escape to reach Khan’s 11th-floor residence. A nurse caring for Jeh was the first to encounter the intruder, who demanded Rs 1 crore before turning on Khan.
CCTV footage has captured the attacker entering the building and fleeing via the stairs. In one video, he is seen climbing the stairs with his face covered and carrying a bag. Another clip shows him taking the stairs from the sixth floor while escaping.

The Mumbai Police have formed 20 teams, including 10 from the Crime Branch, to investigate the case. Over 30 statements have been recorded, including that of a carpenter who worked at Khan’s residence two days prior to the incident.
