Mumbai Police received a threatening call warning of a potential terrorist attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s aircraft ahead of his official visit to the United States. The alarming call, which came into the Mumbai Police Control Room, claimed that terrorists might target the PM’s plane, prompting immediate action from security agencies.
Following the receipt of the call on Tuesday, Mumbai Police promptly informed the security agencies and launched an investigation to assess the credibility of the threat. According to India Today, which quoted ANI, law enforcement took the matter seriously due to the high stakes involved.
“On February 11, a call was received at Mumbai Police Control Room warning that terrorists may attack PM Modi’s aircraft as he was leaving on an official visit abroad. Considering the serious nature of the information, the Police informed other agencies and began an investigation,” Mumbai Police confirmed in a statement.
Suspect Identified and Arrested
As the investigation unfolded, Mumbai Police tracked down and arrested the individual behind the threat call. It was later revealed that the suspect is mentally ill, according to police sources. Despite this, authorities took all necessary precautions before PM Modi’s departure.

PM Narendra Modi is currently on a four-day diplomatic visit to France and the United States. After completing the first leg of his trip in France, he is scheduled to arrive in the United States on Wednesday.

Their discussion revolved around the “incredible opportunities” artificial intelligence presents for India. Sundar Pichai also emphasized Google’s commitment to supporting India’s digital transformation initiatives.
