BJP and AAP indulge in charges and charges in a devious move to postpone MCD elections: Delhi Congress Chief

Delhi Congress leaders along with state President Anil Kumar

New Delhi: Delhi Congress on Saturday said that Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal wasted the past eight years in pointless pursuits without fulfilling even one of his election promises as he never paid any attention neither to the welfare of the people of Delhi, nor  for the development of the national Capital.

Delhi Congress President Anil Kumar said that fearing defeat, both BJP and the AAP were making devious moves to get the MCD elections postponed. Hesaid that Arvind Kejriwal had objected liquor sale in Delhi before coming to power, and had vowed to banish liquor shops, but he not only increased the number of liquor vends in Delhi by opening 3-4 shops in every ward, in violation of all the existing rules and regulations, but also lowered the liquor consumption age from 25 to 21 years, to ruin the unemployed youth, and make Delhi “Nashe Ki Rajdhani”.

Kumar said that Arvind used the Nirbhaya case to come to power, and talked about women empowerment, but women are the most insecure and harassed lot in Delhi, due to rising crimes against them and price rise. He said that the BJP and the AAP Governments have set new records in corruption in the MCDs and the Delhi Government with their open loot and misuse of tax payers’ money, and then indulge in shadow boxing between them, about shortage of funds to fool the people, and deny salaries to the MCD employees, particularly the sanitation workers.

He said that before the MCD elections, Delhi Congress will enroll at least 100 digital members in every booth. He said that Delhi Congress has deployed nearly 12,000 enrollers to quicken the digital membership enrolment campaign.
