In a significant diplomatic engagement, German Ambassador to India, Philipp Ackermann, along with the German Embassy’s Economy Counsellor, met with Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren at the Chief Minister’s Residential Office on Wednesday.
The high-level meeting focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation and discussing avenues for development across multiple sectors.
During the meeting, the German Ambassador highlighted the notable similarities between Germany and Jharkhand in coal mining and production. He expressed Germany’s keen interest in enhancing cooperation with Jharkhand, particularly in the development of coal-based industries. Ambassador Ackermann emphasized that such collaboration could unlock new opportunities for industrial growth and technological exchange between the two regions.
Investment Opportunities and Government Support
CM Hemant Soren briefed the German delegation on the vast industrial investment potential in Jharkhand. He informed the Ambassador that the state government is actively engaging with industrial groups from across India and abroad to attract investments. “We are witnessing positive outcomes from these ongoing efforts,” the Chief Minister stated.

He further assured the Ambassador that German investors looking to invest in India would receive full support from the Jharkhand government. CM Soren reiterated the state’s commitment to facilitating a conducive environment for international businesses, especially those contributing to sustainable development and industrial innovation.
Invitation to Visit Germany
In a gesture of goodwill and to deepen bilateral ties, Ambassador Philipp Ackermann extended a formal invitation to CM Hemant Soren to visit Germany. The visit is expected to pave the way for further strategic dialogue and collaboration between German industrial entities and the state of Jharkhand.
Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister, Avinash Kumar, was also present during the meeting.
