In a key step toward bolstering women’s education, Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Friday chaired a high-level review meeting to assess the progress of construction and renovation plans for women’s colleges and polytechnic institutes proposed by the Department of Higher and Technical Education.
The review aimed to fast-track infrastructure development in districts, including Ranchi, Chaibasa, Giridih, Dhanbad, Dumka, Hazaribagh, and others.
Government’s Commitment to Quality Women’s Education
The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring quality higher and technical education for women. He instructed officials to expedite the implementation of construction and renovation works for the identified women’s colleges and complete them within the stipulated timeline. “It is imperative to complete all work related to the new constructions and renovations of women’s colleges without delay,” said CM Soren.
He emphasized that any bottlenecks or issues delaying the progress must be promptly resolved. He also directed that the entire process be carried out with complete transparency and in line with modern educational infrastructure standards. Every building, he noted, should include centralized water tanks, utility centers, green campus features, and energy efficiency measures. Furthermore, he stressed that ongoing construction should not hinder the education or convenience of currently enrolled students and that cleanliness and security across campuses must be thoroughly maintained.
