According to a statement by the group’s spokesperson, Jeeyand Baloch, the attack involved a remote-controlled improvised explosive device (IED), resulting in the deaths of 10 military personnel.

The BLA described the attack as part of its ongoing armed struggle against what it calls the “occupying enemy forces” and warned that such operations would escalate in “intensity.” The group also released a video showing thick black smoke rising from what was reportedly an army bomb disposal unit’s vehicle.

The personnel killed in the attack included Subedar Shehzad Ameen, Naib Subedar Abbas, Sepoy Khalil, Sepoy Zahid, Sepoy Khurram, and others. Reports indicate that the convoy was on a routine patrol when the explosive was detonated.
The attack comes after BLA hijacked Jaffar express last month
In a related context, in March this year, the BLA had carried out a major hijacking of the Jaffar Express train near Bolan, taking about 440 passengers hostage and killing at least 21 people. The militants detonated explosives to destroy sections of the railway track, derailing the train as it traveled from Quetta to Peshawar. The attack occurred in the mountainous areas near Gudalar and Piru Kunri.
Following that incident, Army spokesperson Lt Gen Ahmad Sharif stated that security forces neutralized all 33 militants involved and safely rescued all the hostages. “The armed forces successfully completed the operation by killing all terrorists and ensuring the safe release of all passengers,” he told reporters.
