Babil Khan, son of the late actor Irrfan Khan, has expressed apprehension about playing his father in a biopic. In an interview with Wion News, the young actor stated, “I would actually, and it would be an honor, but the thought is too scary for me right now.”
He elaborated that his ‘dada’ lived in a certain darkness at the age of 26, dedicating his life to complex ideas, which enabled him to portray diverse characters without ever aging on screen.
Babil noted, “You could never say how old he was,” emphasizing his father’s timeless presence and ability to embody roles ranging from a serial killer to a hopeless romantic without the need for visual effects.
Currently, Babil stars in the cyber-thriller film Logout, directed by Amit Golani, which premiered on ZEE5 on April 18, 2025. The film follows Pratyush Dua, a 25-year-old social media influencer striving to reach 10 million followers.

His life spirals into chaos when his phone is stolen, and an anonymous figure hijacks his online identity, leading to a psychological battle that blurs the lines between his digital persona and reality. The film also features Rasika Dugal, Gandharv Dewan, and Nimisha Nair in pivotal roles.
Logout has been praised for its commentary on digital obsession and the psychological toll of online fame. Babil’s performance as Pratyush has been highlighted as a standout, showcasing his ability to delve into complex emotional landscapes. The film serves as a cautionary tale about the dangers of social media dependency and the loss of personal identity in the digital age.
Babil’s candid reflections on his father’s legacy and his own burgeoning career illustrate the challenges of stepping out of a legendary parent’s shadow while forging an individual path in the film industry.
