In a development in the Bengal porn racket case, the Howrah City Police on Wednesday confirmed the arrest of Arian Khan, one of the prime accused in the case involving the assault and wrongful confinement of a woman from Sodepur. His minor sister has also been detained, while their mother and main accused Shweta Khan remains absconding.
According to Police Commissioner Praveen Tripathy, Khan was apprehended from the Golf Green Police Station area in Tollygunge after an intense five-day manhunt. He was later taken to the Domjur Police Station and booked under multiple non-bailable charges.
Shocking Details of Torture, Assault, and Coercion Emerge
The arrest follows a letter from the victim’s mother to the Chief Minister, urging immediate action. The survivor, who is now in critical condition at Sagore Dutta Medical College and Hospital, had escaped the accused’s apartment last Friday with multiple injuries and is currently in the ICCU.
According to the woman’s family, Arian Khan allegedly lured the victim with promises of a job in event management after connecting with her via social media. She relocated to Howrah, where she was allegedly confined at Arian’s Domjur residence, forced to work in a bar, and brutally assaulted after she refused to act in pornographic videos.
