What began as a case of revenge took a disturbing turn when Pratim Bora, a mechanical engineer from Assam working in Delhi, allegedly used AI tools to fabricate pornographic content featuring his ex-girlfriend, Archita Phukan. Bora reportedly used just one photo of Phukan to create a full-fledged online persona called Babydoll Archi, uploading sexually explicit AI-generated videos and images to adult websites and social media.
The scandal erupted after the digital content featuring Babydoll Archi gained massive traction online. The profile, active since August 2020, reportedly had over 1.3 million Instagram followers as of July 14. A reel synced to the Spanish song ‘Dame Un Grrr’ and an AI-generated image showing Babydoll Archi with American adult star Kendra Lust contributed to its virality.
However, the account and persona were not real. The photos, videos, and even apparent life updates were all artificially generated and maintained by Bora. The real woman behind the image, Archita Phukan, eventually filed a police complaint, leading to Bora’s arrest.
Arrest and Investigation Reveal Motive: Revenge First, Then Profit
According to Dibrugarh SSP-in-charge Sizal Agarwal, Bora used AI platforms like Midjourney AI, Desire AI, and OpenArt AI to morph Archita Phukan’s face onto pornographic visuals. The content was not only made to appear real but also monetised. Police said Bora earned close to ₹10 lakh from subscriptions tied to the explicit content.
The account went through multiple identity changes, including a recent name switch from Babydoll Archi to Amira Ishtara, in an apparent attempt to rebrand. Bora also fabricated a backstory for the AI persona, claiming she had escaped a trafficking ring in Delhi’s GB Road after paying ₹25 lakh for her freedom — further adding realism to the fake digital identity.

The police recovered Bora’s credit cards, financial documents, and social media credentials. During interrogation, he admitted to setting up multiple fake Gmail and social accounts to distribute the AI-generated content. Police warned that anyone found forwarding or commenting abusively on the fake content would also face legal action.
Archita Phukan’s Identity Misused by AI: A Cautionary Tale
This case has sparked a broader debate on the dangers of AI misuse. Archita Phukan’s name, image, and reputation were hijacked for personal revenge and then for profit. The fallout from the Babydoll Archi case underscores the urgent need for AI regulation and public awareness.
As investigations continue, Archita Phukan’s story stands as a warning that in the digital age, not everything we see is real — and that deepfakes can ruin lives long before they’re exposed.
