After captivating audiences with his performance in Kalki 2898 AD, legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan is set to make a special guest appearance in the upcoming Gujarati film Fakt Purusho Maate. The Bollywood icon shared a video of the film’s trailer on his Instagram, generating excitement among fans.
The trailer opens with the afterlife of an elderly man, portrayed by Darshan Jariwala. After his death, he encounters Amitabh Bachchan, who grants him a temporary return to earth with special powers. Jariwala’s mission? To disrupt the impending wedding of his grandson, Brijesh (played by Yash Soni), to his love interest, Radhika (played by Esha Kansara).
Upon his return, Jariwala’s character finds Soni’s character conversing over the phone with Kansara. Annoyed by his grandson’s infatuation, he derogatorily calls him “chachundar” (a colloquial term for a fool).
During a date where Soni informs Kansara about securing a seat for her at a UK university, Jariwala’s character uses his powers to make Kansara perceive Soni as selfish. The twist reveals that Soni can see his grandfather’s soul, leading to Jariwala’s attempts to convince him that Kansara is manipulative and unworthy of his love.

The storyline intensifies when Soni, influenced by his grandfather, asks Kansara to erase all their memories from his phone and expresses a desire for an arranged marriage to his father. However, he soon realizes his love for Kansara and challenges his grandfather, declaring that nothing can separate him from his true love. The ensuing battle between grandfather and grandson forms the crux of the film.

Fakt Purusho Maate is the sequel to the superhit Gujarati film Fakt Mahilao Maate. In his Instagram caption, Bachchan wrote, “After the groundbreaking success of Fakt Mahilao Maate, my dear friend Anand Pandit (Producer) and his team are back again with a roller coaster of drama, emotions AND comedy – Fakt Purusho Maate releasing on 23rd August 2024. Enjoyed playing a special appearance in this special film.”
Directed by Jay Bodas and Parth Trivedi, Fakt Purusho Maate is set to release on August 23, 2024, promising a blend of drama, emotions, and comedy, with a special touch from Amitabh Bachchan.
