After conquering stages at Coachella and Paris Fashion Week, Diljit Dosanjh has now made a show-stopping debut at the Met Gala 2025, joining fellow Indian stars Shah Rukh Khan and Kiara Advani on the global red carpet.
Dosanjh embraced his Punjabi heritage with unmatched style, dressed by designer Prabal Gurung. He looked regal in a monochrome white ensemble, wearing a white turban, layered jewellery, and a long white cape inscribed with Punjabi alphabets. In a powerful statement of culture and identity, he also carried a traditional sword, evoking the elegance of a modern Maharaja.
Met Gala 2025: A Tribute to Menswear and Black Style
The theme for this year’s event, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” draws inspiration from Monica L. Miller’s influential book Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity (2009).
It marks the first Met Gala in over two decades to spotlight menswear, with the dress code aptly named “Tailored for You.””The theme this year is not only timely,” said Gala committee member Usher, “but also speaks to our rich culture that should always be widely celebrated.”

According to the Met, the exhibition “presents a cultural and historical examination of Black style from the 18th century to today, through the lens of dandyism.”
The event was co-chaired by an influential group including Pharrell Williams, Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, and Anna Wintour, with LeBron James serving as an honorary co-chair.
