The action-thriller film “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan” continues its triumphant journey at the box office, surpassing the 60 crore milestone. According to a recent report by Sacnilk, the film directed by Ali Abbas Zafar grossed Rs 1.10 crore on its 18th day of release, bringing its total collection to Rs 60.65 crore.
Headlined by the dynamic duo of Tiger Shroff and Akshay Kumar, the film has captured audiences across Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam languages. With its compelling narrative of Indian army officials battling a mysterious antagonist, the movie also boasts a stellar cast including Prithviraj Sukumaran, Manushi Chhillar and Alaya Furniturewala, portraying pivotal roles.
Produced by Pooja Entertainment and AAZ Films, “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan” stands as a testament to the enduring popularity of the original 1998 film of the same name, which starred Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda in iconic roles.
Despite its success, the journey to bringing “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan” to life wasn’t without its challenges. Prithviraj Sukumaran, who essays the character of Kabir in the film, recently opened up about his initial apprehensions in accepting the role.
In an interview with News18 Showsha, Sukumaran revealed how discussions during the filming of another project, “Salaar,” led to a pivotal realisation.
He recalled a conversation with director Prashanth, where he expressed his dilemma due to scheduling conflicts. However, Prashanth’s astute observation about Sukumaran’s true desire to be a part of the film struck a chord. Sukumaran admitted, “If I wasn’t a part of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, I would’ve been kicking myself after watching it.”
Navigating the complexities of simultaneous filming schedules, Sukumaran emphasized the rarity of such practices in the Malayalam film industry. Typically accustomed to focusing on one project at a time, the actor found himself balancing commitments to multiple films.
However, with flexibility from both ends and adjustments made by director Ali Abbas Zafar, Sukumaran seamlessly integrated into the cast of “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.” Reflecting on the experience, he expressed gratitude for being a part of a project he believes in, underscoring the film’s quality and significance.
As “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan” continues to captivate audiences with its blend of action and intrigue, Sukumaran’s journey stands as a testament to the collaborative spirit driving its success.
With each passing day, the film’s box office triumph reinforces its position as a modern-day blockbuster, echoing the timeless appeal of its predecessor while carving a distinct identity of its own.
