Netflix has unveiled the much-anticipated trailer for Jennifer Lopez’s upcoming film, “Atlas,” offering a thrilling glimpse into a sci-fi adventure like no other. Directed by Brad Peyton, the movie introduces Lopez as a complex character determined to safeguard humanity against the perils of artificial intelligence.
In “Atlas,” Lopez portrays a brilliant yet mistrustful data analyst who embarks on a daring mission to apprehend a rogue robot, with whom she shares an enigmatic past. However, when their plans veer off course, she finds herself forced to ally with the very technology she fears in a bid to secure humanity’s future.
The film promises an electrifying blend of action and intrigue, marking Lopez’s return to the genre following her success in “The Mother,” a previous action-packed hit on streaming platforms. Audiences can anticipate Lopez donning her action-hero mantle once again, this time facing off against the formidable foes of artificial intelligence.
Joining Lopez in the cast are Simu Liu, Sterling K. Brown, Gregory James Cohan, Abraham Popoola, Lana Parrilla, and Mark Strong. The screenplay for “Atlas” is penned by Leo Sardarian and Aron Eli Coleite, with Samson Mücke and Michael Riley McGrath serving as executive producers.
Lopez, who also starred in Netflix’s 2023 film “The Mother,” has been a force to reckon with in recent acting ventures, including “Shotgun Wedding” and “Marry Me.” Additionally, she graced Prime Video with “This Is Me…Now: A Love Story,” complementing her ninth studio album release of the same name.
Sterling K. Brown, known for his acclaimed work in “This Is Us,” adds his talent to the “Atlas” ensemble. Recently, he was nominated for an Oscar for his role in Cord Jefferson’s “American Fiction” and is set to star in the upcoming Hulu series “Washington Black.”
