During a visit to a community hospital on the Isles of Scilly off the coast of Cornwall, Britain’s Prince William broke his silence on the health of Kate Middleton, revealing she is “doing well” as she undergoes preventative chemotherapy for cancer.
Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, disclosed in March that she was receiving treatment after cancer was discovered following abdominal surgery earlier in the year. Despite reassurances of her well-being at the time, updates on her health have been scarce, with the couple’s office stating they won’t provide regular updates until she is deemed fit to resume public duties.
Prince William, 41, and the future king, visited the Isles of Scilly for a two-day trip, engaging in various activities including observing a new project aimed at addressing homelessness, spending time with local groups on the beach, and touring a community hospital. Upon arrival, he expressed regret at his family’s absence, mentioning that they were “very upset” not to be there with him.

While on the largest of the islands, St Mary’s, Prince William met with harbour operators and local business owners, discussing their preparations for the upcoming summer tourist season.
The visit comes amidst a series of public engagements for the royal family, with Prince Charles, 75, also seen attending events, including a visit to a military training college, marking his return to public duties following his own battle with cancer.
The Duke of Cambridge’s candid comment regarding his wife’s health offers a rare insight into the couple’s personal life amid their public obligations, reflecting the ongoing concern and support for the Duchess as she undergoes treatment.
