Manipur Violence: In a tense situation unfolding in Manipur’s Jiribam district, three women and three children have been reported missing after a violent encounter between security forces and suspected Kuki insurgents near the Assam border. The Manipur Police, in a press briefing, stated that the clash, which resulted in the death of 10 insurgents, was marked by significant firepower capable of creating widespread chaos in the area.

The security forces have intensified operations to locate the missing civilians. “Security forces have launched an operation to search for the missing people. They are three women and three children. The Assam Rifles, Border Security Force, and the Central Reserve Police Force will retaliate if fired upon,” a senior Manipur Police official announced today in Imphal.

The encounter reportedly broke out on Monday afternoon in the conflict-prone region of Jiribam, which has seen ongoing tensions between different communities. Security personnel were dispatched to the area, and authorities are closely monitoring the situation to prevent further violence.
