New Delhi: The national capital witnessed the hottest day with highest temperature settled at 42.4 degree Celsius, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). This is the highest temperature recorded in the city in last 72 years.
The meteorological office has issued an red alert, warning of a ‘severe heatwave’ in the Delhi. The IMD uses four colour codes for weather warnings — green (no action needed), yellow (watch and stay updated), orange (be prepared) and red (take action).
