A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi vowed to identify, track down, and punish every terrorist and their supporters responsible for the killing of 26 innocent tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, U.S. intelligence chief Tulsi Gabbard strongly condemned the attack and expressed Washington’s support for India in its pursuit of justice.
Tulsi Gabbard, the Director of National Intelligence, posted on X (formerly Twitter), saying:
“We stand in solidarity with India in the wake of the horrific Islamist terrorist attack that claimed the lives of 26 Hindus in Pahalgam. My prayers and heartfelt condolences go out to the families of the victims, Prime Minister @narendramodi, and the people of India. We support you as you pursue those responsible for this brutal act.”

US supports India on Pahalgam
Gabbard’s remarks come shortly after U.S. State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce declined to respond to a Pakistani journalist’s question regarding the attack, instead emphasizing America’s unwavering stance against terrorism.
“President Trump and Secretary Rubio have been clear: the United States stands with India and condemns all forms of terrorism in the strongest terms. We grieve with the victims’ families, wish the injured a swift recovery, and urge that the perpetrators be swiftly brought to justice,” Bruce stated.

Donald Trump affirms US support to India on Pahalgam
Earlier, President Donald Trump also spoke out against the Pahalgam terror attack, affirming full American support for India. In a post on Truth Social, he wrote:
“Deeply disturbing news from Kashmir. The United States stands firmly with India against terrorism. We pray for the souls of the victims and the recovery of those injured. Prime Minister Modi and the resilient people of India have our full support and deepest sympathies.”
Trump also reportedly called Prime Minister Modi on Wednesday to personally express his condolences and offer U.S. support.
“President Trump strongly condemned the terror attack and pledged full backing to India in its efforts to bring those responsible to justice. India and the United States remain united in the fight against terrorism,” said Randhir Jaiswal, spokesperson for India’s Ministry of External Affairs.
