Lucknow: A teenaged girl was allegedly pulled out of an auto-rickshaw, assaulted and molested by a group of four youths in Uttar Pradesh’s Gonda district on April 23. The police said the accused dragged the girl to the bushes on the roadside, tore the girl’s clothes, made a video of the act and also uploaded it on social media platforms.
While a case was filed after senior police officials were informed about the incident, teams have been formed to trace the culprits and arrest them.
The Dhanepur police have been ordered to register a case under relevant sections and take action, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Shivraj said. The ASP added that on the complaint of the girl’s aunt, a legal action has been initiated.
On April 23, a woman from a village under the Dhanepur police station area was going to see her ailing mother living in another village located in the same police station area with her sister’s daughter when the four youths assaulted the girl at a secluded spot.
They also allegedly molested the teenager and dragged her into the bush on the side of a brick kiln and shot her video which later went viral.
