This Technical Laboratory was constructed at the cost of Rs. 1.70 crore over the plot having an area of 1200 Sqm.

New Delhi: South Delhi Municipal Corporation has inaugurated a Technical Laboratory of at Sector-9, RK Puram for the testing of materials used for Building Construction and Road works of South Delhi Municipal Corporation.
This Technical Laboratory was constructed at the cost of Rs. 1.70 crore over the plot having an area of 1200 Sqm. The SDMC has installed State of Art Digital Technology Machinery and Equipment at the cost of Rs. 1.17 crore. It is a 3-floor building (ground, first & second). There are 6 rooms each on ground and first floors for Lab Testing and Machines while hall and rooms for office use has been constructed on second floor. Material testing facility for Cement & Aggregates, Steel Re-bars, Bitumen for road works, water for construction, concrete and pre-cast concrete, bricks & soils, tiles and flush door & paints will be available at this centre.
This Technical Laboratory will not only function for testing of construction materials from SDMC but also from various other agencies carrying out Civil Engineering works. This endeavour will generate revenue for the SDMC by testing materials of other agencies. After successful commissioning of Lab, SDMC will go for ISO Certification.
