Rajasthan School Building Collapses | A tragic incident unfolded in Rajasthan’s Jhalawar district on Friday morning when the roof of a government school building collapsed, claiming the lives of at least four children. The collapse occurred at approximately 8:30 am at Piplodi Government School located in the Manohar Thana area.
According to officials, around 40 students, teachers, and staff members were present on the school premises at the time of the collapse. The school, which offers education up to Class 8, was reportedly in a dilapidated condition, with previous complaints about its structural safety.
Jhalawar Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar confirmed the casualties, stating, “Four children have died and 17 others are injured. Ten children have been referred to Jhalawar, out of which three to four are critical.”
Rescue Teams, Families, and Officials Rush to the Scene
Visuals from the site showed local residents and rescue personnel working together to pull out trapped students and staff from the debris. Four JCB machines were deployed at the spot to assist in clearing the rubble.
Senior officials from the district administration, including the collector, along with disaster relief teams, are present at the site to oversee the ongoing rescue operations. Family members of the students also rushed to the scene upon hearing about the collapse.

Rajasthan Education Minister Madan Dilawar said, “I have directed the zilla authorities to make proper arrangements and to oversee the injured children’s treatment, and to ensure they do not face any kind of difficulties. I will order a probe into the incident and to ascertain what led the building to collapse. I have also spoken to the collector and directed authorities to take stock of the situation and help in whatever way possible.”
The injured students are being shifted to Manohar Thana Hospital, while those with serious injuries are being referred to a bigger hospital in Jhalawar, sources said.
