Delhi Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj on Tuesday opened up about the absence of AAP MP Raghav Chadha from election campaigns, revealing that Chadha is currently in the UK for urgent eye surgery due to a serious complication. Bharadwaj emphasised the severity of Chadha’s condition, stating that timely treatment was essential to prevent potential blindness.
Expressing his well wishes for the speedy recovery of Raghav Chadha, Bharadwaj assured that once the AAP MP’s health improved, Chadha would return to India and resume the party’s election campaign activities.
Despite being physically away for medical treatment, Raghav Chadha has remained active on social media, addressing various developments within the party, including Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest and Sunita Kejriwal’s entry into active politics through her roadshow in support of AAP candidates.
Raghav Chadha also reacted strongly to allegations that Tihar jail authorities were denying Arvind Kejriwal essential medications, particularly insulin for his diabetes. Chadha denounced it as “extremely inhumane” and a violation of prison regulations.
Arvind Kejriwal was arrested in connection with the Delhi Liquor Policy case in March and subsequently by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on money laundering charges. His former Deputy, Manish Sisodia, is also detained in the same case.
Meanwhile, the AAP has appointed his wife Sunita Kejriwal to lead the party’s Lok Sabha campaign in Delhi and other states. This campaign began with a roadshow in support of AAP candidates in East Delhi.
In an unrelated note, Raghav Chadha and his spouse, Parineeti Chopra, participated in the London India Forum 2024 held at the London School of Economics in March. The couple shared photos of their participation on their respective social media platforms.
