The state excise department has sealed Cosie bar in Pune following the tragic accident involving a 17-year-old who fatally struck two IT professionals with his Porsche.
The bar was closed two days after the crash, which occurred early Sunday morning. Preliminary investigations indicate the teenager was intoxicated at the time of the incident, although his blood test results are still pending.
A CCTV footage from the pub captured the boy drinking with his friends, allegedly celebrating his Class 12 results, just hours before the accident.
The fatal collision occurred around 2:15 am in the Kalyani Nagar area, where the speeding Porsche hit Aneesh Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta.
Another CCTV footage showed the vehicle traveling well over the posted speed limits, reportedly reaching speeds of 200 km per hour.

Despite the severity of the incident, the boy was granted bail within hours of his detention by the Juvenile Justice Board, sparking widespread criticism.
The bar owners were arrested for serving alcohol to the underage teenager. After the accident, the minor was detained but released on bail in just 15 hours.
As a part of his bail conditions, the Juvenile Justice Board mandated that he write a 300-word essay on road accidents and undergo various rehabilitative measures.

These include being referred to an alcohol de-addiction center for counselling, working with the traffic police in Yerawada for 15 days, receiving treatment to quit drinking and undergoing psychiatric counselling, as stated by his defense lawyer Prashant Patil.
The swift release of the teenager, especially in a case resulting in two fatalities, has been met with significant backlash.
Critics argue that the quick bail undermines the gravity of the incident and the loss suffered by the victims’ families. The case has also raised concerns about the enforcement of laws regarding underage drinking and the responsibilities of establishments serving alcohol.
