Former Karnataka minister H D Revanna and his son, Prajwal Revanna, are embroiled in fresh legal troubles following a disturbing case lodged against them.
The complaint, filed by a 20-year-old youth from Krishnaraja Nagar town in Mysuru district, alleges that his mother was kidnapped by Prajwal Revanna after a video purportedly showing her tied and subjected to sexual assault surfaced.
According to the complainant, his mother had previously worked at HD Revanna’s residence in Holenarasipura around six years ago but had returned to her hometown three years ago after leaving the job.
The complainant claims that Sathish Babanna, an aide of Prajwal Revanna, visited their house recently and warned them not to disclose anything to the police, indicating impending inquiries.

The situation escalated on April 29 when Sathish Babanna allegedly returned to their house, claiming that Prajwal Revanna had instructed him to take away the complainant’s mother due to potential legal ramifications.
The complainant’s mother was then taken away on a motorcycle, and the complainant later learned that a distressing video had emerged, purportedly showing his mother being tied with a rope and subjected to sexual assault by Prajwal Revanna.
Expressing concerns over his mother’s safety, the complainant sought police assistance to locate her whereabouts. Subsequently, a case was registered against HD Revanna and Sathish Babanna by KR Nagar police under Mysuru Rural sub-division, encompassing charges of kidnapping, wrongful confinement, and connivance.

In response to the mounting allegations and legal proceedings, HD Revanna issued a statement asserting his innocence and readiness to confront the accusations. “I have the strength to face these conspiracies. I will face it (investigation). There is no need to bother. I did not do anything wrong. I am prepared for any investigation and will fight it in a legal manner,” Revanna declared on Wednesday.
The developments surrounding this case have captured significant attention and scrutiny, particularly due to the political stature of HD Revanna, a JD(S) MLA from Holenarasipura constituency, and Prajwal Revanna, the sitting JD(S) MP from Hassan.
The state government has tasked a Special Investigation Team (SIT) with probing the allegations against Prajwal Revanna, which include claims of sexual abuse depicted in explicit video clips circulating online.
The unfolding legal proceedings underscore the seriousness of the accusations and highlight the challenges facing prominent public figures in navigating such controversies. As investigations continue, the matter remains subject to intense public and legal scrutiny in Karnataka’s political landscape.
