In a shocking incident from Nagpur, Maharashtra, a 30-year-old woman and her alleged lover have been arrested for murdering her bedridden husband by smothering him with a pillow. The accused, Disha Ramteke, and her partner Asif Islam Ansari, also known as Rajababu Tyrewala, initially attempted to portray the death as natural.
Disha Ramteke had been married to 38-year-old Chandrasen Ramteke for 13 years. The couple had two daughters and a six-year-old son. Two years ago, Chandrasen suffered a paralytic attack that left him bedridden. Since then, Disha had been selling water cans to support the family financially.
Illicit Relationship Led to Murder Plot, Police Say
Police investigations revealed that the relationship between Disha and Chandrasen had deteriorated over time due to his suspicions about her character. About two months ago, Disha became acquainted with Asif, a local mechanic, and the relationship soon turned romantic.
According to officials, Chandrasen recently found out about Disha’s extramarital affair, which led to a confrontation. Following the argument, Disha and Asif allegedly conspired to kill him.

On Friday afternoon, while Chandrasen was asleep at their residence, Disha called Asif over. During the act, Disha reportedly held her husband down while Asif smothered him with a pillow until he stopped breathing.
Hours later, Chandrasen was found unconscious in his home. The couple initially tried to present the death as a natural one. However, the post-mortem examination revealed signs of smothering, confirming it was a case of murder. During police interrogation, Disha confessed to the crime.
